SHOTOKAN KARATE:

Shotokan karate is a system of Okinawan karate founded in 1936 by  Gichin Funakoshi and  Yoshitaka Funakoshi in Japan, Shotokan is one of the five traditional karate styles.


With Shotokan you will learn through challenging and exciting course content that includes Kata, Self-defense and Sparring techniques.

 KATA: a set sequence of karate moves organized into a pre-arranged fight against imaginary opponents. The kata consists of kicks, punches, sweeps, strikes, blocks, and throws. Body movement in various kata includes stepping, twisting, turning, dropping to the ground, and jumping.

 KUMITE (SPARRING): is the practical application of kata to real opponents. Levels of sparring include beginner, intermediate, and freestyle (free) sparring.

Shotokan improves physical fitness, flexibility, focus and concentration.
