Japanese Kobujutsu Jissen & Ninpo Bugei: The Kamiyama Dojo (Dallas, TX) was founded in 1985. The main martial traditions which make up
the Kamiyama Dojo are, Gyokko ryu koshijutsu, Takagi Yoshin ryu Jutaijutsu, Kukishinden ryu Happo Bikenjutsu, Togakure ryu Ninpo Taijutsu, Koto ryu Koppojutsu and Shinden Fudo ryu Jutaijutsu –Dakentaijutsu.
Rick Henderson brings this training to the Binghamton area and teaches the scientific knowledge of Japanese Bugei, taihenjutsu, which are the biometrics of living skills, escape, rolling, falling, footwork, leaping and the weak points of the body. This leads into the striking methodology of taihenjutsu where each student gets involved with self-protection skills to stop or weaken an attacker from harming them. With the use of skills learned in biometrics the student's level of knowledge is heightened and he progresses relatively fast. Students learn that everything on the body is can be trained to stop an attacker.
Binghamton classes are fun and interesting as each student matures into a warrior. Of course the learning doesn't stop there. The grappling methods of Japanese Bugei are famous for the detail and effective structure of the ancient Japanese warrior's battle field methods. The student learns more skills to protect themselves such as:
Joint locks
Chokes
Throws
Throwing escape
Ground fighting
and Submissions
Together with body skills the student also learns Japanese Bugei weaponry. Stick training is the major subject, but also other weapons include:
The sword
Throwing blades
Weighted-hain
Sickle-knife with cord and weight
The knife/throwing blades
The spear
Hand claws.
